Entrepreneurs and life partners Rita McGee and Doug Wold are the owners of Queen Anne
Painting & Carpentry. Rita manages the internal operations team and Doug, in his capacity as
CEO, provides the vision and overall direction for the company. He also leads the sales and
marketing efforts and oversees the project management teams.
Rita and Doug are passionate about building relationships with their customers based on
professionalism, trust, reliability and satisfaction. From project managers to painters and
carpenters, their talented team of experts work collaboratively with every client to plan and
execute high-quality projects that are completed on time and within budget. These teams
complete more than 600 projects a year with more than half of the business coming from

Doug, a Salem, Oregon native was part of the inaugural class at The Evergreen State College
and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science.
Doug began his career working in Washington State politics and after almost a decade of
community organizing and running campaigns in Seattle, he launched Queen Anne Painting as a
part-time business out of his home with two friends from college. Today, the business has more
than 50 full-time employees, with additional employees hired during the summer months.
Rita, a Redondo Beach, California native, received her undergraduate degree in sociology from
the University of Washington and a J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law. She owned a
family law practice before joining Doug at Queen Anne Painting & Carpentry in 2002.
When they take a break from running the business, Rita and Doug are traveling to faraway
places for kayaking, river rafting and hiking excursions. Doug is also an avid skier. They enjoy
spending time with their daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons who live close-by in Seattle
along with their son, a singer-songwriter who resides in Los Angeles.
