I’ve had bids before, and I get prices that are high, low and all over the place. Why?
The cost of the job is usually determined by the level of thoroughness, attention to detail, and quality desired. Here are several factors that have an impact on the bid price: It costs more to properly prepare a surface for painting than to give it the “quick once ever.” The extra care and effort to protect your furnishings, and landscaping takes more time. And there’s an investment to professionally train painters and provide them the highest quality paints, tools and supplies to give you the best results. We would be happy to review – in detail – our calculations for your project so you can make a fair comparison with other bids.
Our last painter would work for a few days, and then be gone for a few. Always starting and stopping. Will you stay on the job once you begin?
Yes, we will. Many companies struggle with this scheduling problem. But since we have multiple crews, a specific team is dedicated to one job at a time. You will have the same crew on your job from start to finish.
Who does the painting and who will supervise the job?
We use only Queen Anne Painting trained employees, not sub-contractors. Queen Anne Painting uses the “Lead Painter” system. Each of our Lead Painters manages a set crew of 2-3 painters. The continuity this system offers has many advantages. For example, they are more productive and efficient as a team because they are paired to complement each other’s styles and skills. We have a staff size of approximately 35 painters, with each member averaging 6 years with Queen Anne Painting. Our most tenured painter has been with the company 19 years. Queen Anne Painting is proud to be a Washington Drug-Free Business. Our reputation is extremely important to us; which is why we have a thorough new hire screening process, including a detailed background check.
Do you have references?
Yes, please visit our testimonials section for our customer references by neighborhood and service. Additional references are available upon request.
What kind of paint do you use?
We use Benjamin Moore, Pratt and Lambert, Devine and Sherwin Williams paints about 90% of the time. However, the brand of paint we use is influenced by additional factors including customer preference, the nature of the project, and other bid specifications. Whichever brand of paint is selected, we use the highest grades because the best paint provides the best results. We also use top quality materials, tools and supplies from companies like: 3M (tape and masking supplies); Wooster (brushes); Daly’s (wood finishing stains); and Bio-Wash® (deck products).
Are your painters bonded?
Queen Anne Painting Co., is a registered contractor in the State of Washington (Reg.#QUEENAP099KF). We are bonded in accordance with Washington State contractor requirements. Our insurance includes general business coverage, with General Liability and Worker’s Compensation policies. Don’t expose yourself to the many risks of hiring a non-registered contractor. Contractor registration may be verified on the web at www.lni.wa.gov, or by calling the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries at: (800) 647-0982, ext. 3.
Can you help with other things besides painting, like wall and ceiling repair, wallpaper or carpentry?
Yes. We have the in-house capability to complete carpentry repairs, wall paper removal, and drywall and plaster repairs. Please visit our services page to see a complete list of the services we provide.
What’s the difference between a good paint job, and a bad one?
A good paint job requires an organized approach that includes the necessary preparation, the correct painting technique, and the appropriate tools and materials. However, all of the skill in the world is useless without adequate time to complete the project. We will honestly advise you about the amount of time needed to properly complete your job. A bad job is often a result of being underbid, rushed, and performed by inexperienced and untrained crews.
Do you warranty your exterior paint jobs?
Absolutely, we offer a three-year labor and material warranty on most exterior work.
Are you located on Queen Anne Hill?
Great question, we get asked this all the time. We were located on Queen Anne Hill in the late 1970’s when we started the business. Although our office has since changed locations, we’ve kept Queen Anne Painting because of the great reputation and name recognition we’ve establish over the last 30 plus years. We work throughout the greater Seattle area and the Eastside.
“I will honestly advise you of your preparation and painting needs, rather than overlook important aspects of the job just to keep the price down.” – Doug Wold, Owner of Queen Anne Painting, Co.
